School Meal Information
Children need healthy meals to learn. The Coventry-Andover School Nutrition Service offers healthy meals every school day. For school year (SY) 2025-26 breakfast is $2.50 and lunch $3.25. Your children may qualify for either free meals or reduced-price meals. Please note that students eligible for reduced-price school meals will no longer receive meals free of charge. Student breakfast is $0.30 and lunch is $0.40.
If you would like to apply for meal benefits, please go to family.schoolcafe.com and file your application electronically. If you haven’t yet done so, you will need to create an account on the family hub. Your student’s ID number can be found on your Annual Permissions and Agreements Form, which you received in your PowerSchool parent account. As a reminder, this new system contains a free and easy app called “School Café Family Hub” which will make online payments easier for parents. You can download the app to your phone and/or access from a website. You will be able to use this to add money to your child’s lunch account instantly and easily at any time.
Alternately, you may fill out the attached form and return it to your child’s school. If you need assistance, please contact Beth Pratt at 860-742-4535 or bpratt@coventryct.org. If you have received a letter from the school food service notifying you of your eligibility for free meals for the 2025-2026 school year through direct certification, you do not need to complete an application.
Also included is Addendum A which should be completed and returned with your application if you wish your eligibility information to be used for other programs, such as discounted technology and WiFi programs, waived fees for chrome books and testing, and more. Please fill out addendum A and return it to me. If you have completed an online application, you can note under information sharing that you would like to receive these benefits. Addendum B refers to Connecticut’s Husky Health Program and Addendum C provides information on the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP – formerly Food Stamps).
We encourage all families to complete the meal benefit application. Please be assured that no student will ever be refused a meal due to insufficient funds. For your reference, the district’s charging policy is attached.
If you have any questions, please contact Beth Pratt, Director of Food Services at 860-742-4535 or bpratt@coventryct.org.
